CMC-UKRAINE

ALL-UKRAINIAN ASSOCIATION OF
MANAGEMENT CONSULTANTS

The co-founder of the Ternopil company “Fungi Farm” Ievhen Salovskii joined the project “Increase of the entrepreneurial potential and development of MSME’s competencies” with a clear request for development of the financial management system.

“Fungi Farm” have been cultivating high-quality, environmentally friendly fungi in Ternopil region for about 15 years now and they are one of the largest manufacturers of this valuable product in Ukraine. The company is family-owned – all the family members are engaged in business-processes and specialize in fungi.

At “Fungi Farm”, grateful responses of clients from de-occupied territories are shared with particular trepidation. The enterprise has started supplying the products to those regions immediately after they were liberated from the occupants. The war has transformed the bright window of opportunity – to expand the sales market – into an important matter. At the moment, the delivery of fresh fungi to Kherson region is not merely a business-process – it is caring for compatriots.

The employees of “Fungi Farm” undergo plenty of training, including training abroad. Professionalism and responsibility in one’s business are mandatory. However, the team has never before sought help from management consultants.

The participation in the project “Access to funding and support of MSME’s sustainability in Ukraine” included not only a possibility of receiving a loan and a grant to partly pay it off, but also access to professional consulting guidance by CMC-Ukraine.

In the frameworks of the project, Ievhen Salovskii was fortunate to work with true professionals – Veronika Verba and Yana Terekhova.

During consulting meetings, they were able to form the idea of company development in the context of new trends, challenges of the war and changes in the business environment; as well as define the business model with some specification of customer segments, peculiarities of their requests and value proposition for them; and identify business processes and resources of setting this value. As a result, a simplified financial model for cultivating champignons and selling them through various channels was developed and is now operating at “Fungi Farm”.

Ievhen Salovskyii about the key results of working with CMC-Ukraine management consultants:

“The work with the consultants provides fuel to move further. It is not an exam, it is partnership, shared development. And a great investment of time.

Sooner or later, the issue of strategic vision should be understood.

We received accurate information instead of a havoc.

The main result is the worked out tasks and the road map of our development: we continue to conduct a complete accounting of expenses, calculate real self-cost in order to make managerial decisions.

We are striving to create a quality and taste standard of champignons TM “Fungi Farm”!”

The methodology #CMC4Ukraine, which received the silver medal of the most prestigious international award in the field of consulting Constantinus Award 2023 from the International Council Management Consulting Institutes (ICMCI) in September 2023, contributes to the good results of our consultants and customers.

We are proud of our colleagues’ work and delighted with the first experience of the company “Fungi Farm” cooperating with management consultants.

The consulting support to MSMEs was provided as a part of the first stage of the Project “Access to funding and support of MSME’s sustainability in Ukraine”, which is implemented within the support of the international cooperation project ReACT4UA ("Utilization and Implementation of the Association Agreement between the EU and Ukraine in the field of trade") that is financed by the German Government.

The strategic executor of the project – is the German federal company Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. Executive partners are Deutsche Sparkassenstiftung für International Kooperation (DSIK) in cooperation with Business Development Fund (BDF). Consulting support to MSMEs within the component of the project “Increase of the entrepreneurial potential and development of MSME’s competencies” is provided by the All-Ukrainian association of management consultants CMC-Ukraine.
