We oblige each prospective CMC to show how they develop professionally – Peter Csakvari.
Performance evaluation is an important part of the personal development plan of a consultant.

Since the war started, the work of CMC-Ukraine became an inspirational example for management consultants of the highest world level. Not only do we gain recognition of the contribution to the development of the profession and Ukrainian economics, but also enjoy the essential support of the international community. This time, the meeting with the colleague from Hungary – Peter Csakvari – took place in the community.

Peter is one of the most famous Certified Management Consultant (CMC) in the world. He is the President of FEACO, lecturer in programmes for management consultants at Metropolitan University (London), member of the magistrate of Budapest Metropolitan University. He has 30 years of experience in business.

The way Peter Csakvari properly positions the profession of a management consultant evokes respect and admiration.

We discussed with him modern management consulting and training of management consultants. It was interesting to hear his representation of some basic directions of consulting study: formal education, on-the-job training, corporate training and certification level.

It is interesting that in work Peter separates training programmes for professional certification from junior programmes and basic disciplines for consultants.

The importance of the ethic code and dealing with ethical dilemmas in professional environment were also discussed during the meeting. Foreign partners pay considerable attention to the displays of personal qualities of the candidates in team and professional interactions during the preparation for the professional certification for a CMC.

A significant part of the professional education of a consultant is on-the-job training. Peter Csakvari emphasized on how important it is to understand the concept of the profession. Sometimes, constant training, instead of development, only takes too much time to learn unnecessary details. There follows the next element of consultant’s profession – performance evaluation.

Performance evaluation is a significant element of the personal development plan of a consultant. It provides an opportunity to become better. A company or a community should assist consultants with performance evaluation by creating criteria which will reflect the level of personal or project progress.

If the performance evaluation is formal, then it is useless. The mistakes must immediately be identified, discussed and corrected.

Besides, Peter Csakvari reasonably explained the efficiency of the structured system of mentoring for development of employees of organizations.

The meeting was lively, deeply professional and inspirational.

It is, indeed, a luxury in a time when increasing economic and social-political challenges for the whole world form a request for professional management consultants and, at the same time, increase the influence of the personal qualities and reputation of a consultant on the customer results.
